I get a preview of the deployment!

I know it sounds silly, but I am excited b/c Peter will be going next month to do combat training for 2 weeks. I was kind of hoping for a practice run before he left for the four months so that I can see how I do in the house all alone. I have never been big on sleeping alone. I hear too much. I am an incredibly light sleeper with a HUGE imagination. So that is a bad combo. But now I can see how I do. Although, even if it goes badly he is still leaving. Haha. Now I just need to come up with ideas of things to do with Samantha during the day that does not require money or being outside too much. It is way too hot for me out there. We do have an Aquarium pass, so I will be taking advantage of that. And I figure if we go to the zoo early enough, we can hang out there for a couple of hours before it's utterly unbearable.

If you have any suggestions, let me know! I think Peter is relieved That his training is next month. He was sweet enough not to tell me before hand that they could have sent him right when we are having the baby. (Speaking of which, we have a date. Sept. 10th is the surgery day!)

Well, I need to get going.

Get a sound machine/noise maker kind of thing for night time. We've been using one ever since our oldest child was first born, and I don't think we could sleep without it. They really help drown out all the annoying, unfamiliar and even scary noises at night. =)

When my girls were younger and it was really hot outside, I used to take them to the play area in the Brandon mall. They loved it and it's free! =)

The noise maker is a great idea, and we use one as well. Actually, it resides in Eliana's room and does the trick. Also, if you are in Brandon periodically when Peter is away, just let me know and you girls can come over and play if you'd like!

Play Doh... I know it sound messy, and it is, but they love it. Also finger paint, again messy but time consuming. :)

See if your friend has a large dog that Samantha could go for a ride on. =) You could even hook him up to a cart (or in this case a diaper box) that he could pull her around in. It would give her some fun time and Cody (I mean the big dog) would get some exercise.

Stroll thru the shops in Hyde Park - it's gorgeous when the weather is nice - just No shopping!! (Unless it's clearance and Sandra has some $3/15 coupons)

Near Hyde park a stroll on Bayshore is also a treat. Lots of windy days.

The museum at MOSI would be a delight for her. You can go for free in Sept and see if you like it before you join. The have a complete kids area across the street from the main museum and A/C is included!!!

If you decide not to go with the awesome dog suggestion from that really cute guy in the picture above, you could always rotate different malls around the area and hang out in the air conditioned indoor play area with your super cool friend, Sandra. Just a thought. Oh, oh, one more! You could assistant coach volleyball and basketball with your super cool friend, Sandra. That would take up a bunch of time and be seriously fun.
