My new mixer

Peter's mom gave me a call about a week ago on her way to a camping trip to let me know that she "did something crazy". She said she couldn't pass up a deal on a Kitchen Aide mixer that she saw on the Internet and bought it for me! Now, to back up, I have wanted one since the day I was married, but it just wasn't in the budget. And I really believed I wouldn't get one until the kids were out of the house. So needless to say, I was more than thrilled.

Right when we got it, we of course needed to bake something. So cookies it was. Samantha got her first real experience of helping mommy in the kitchen. We both had a good time.

"Ooooh! Sugar!"

It's great to get kids involved with baking, learning how to measure, etc. Eliana's helping consists mostly of asking to eat chocolate chips (even when we're making something that doesn't have chocolate chips in it!).

Cute pictures and video!

Those are the kind of unexepected blessings, when God gives you a desire of your heart--how nice of Peter's mom. I bet the cookies were yummy too!

Yay! That's so exciting! I love my KitchenAid and could NOT live without it! We make our own bread and pizza doughs, and I could not imagine having to hand knead that dough for 10 minutes straight. I'm getting a hand cramp just thinking about it. LOL!

You'll love it! Enjoy!

My experience with Kitchenaid was not so good - be careful of the very bottom of the bowl. Mine kept leaving things down there unmixed! I finally took it back - I hope they've taken care of that problem (it's been about 3 years).
