Go in healthy, come out sick!

So yesterday morning I brought the girls to the doctor for check ups and shots. Molly had her one month... she is a little behind b/c of insurance issues. She is doing well. She is 23" and 11.4 lbs. Very exciting that she is growing. She received one shot and took it like a champ.

As for Samantha, well that was a little different. She was due for a vaccine and a flu shot. We were sitting in the waiting room and she came over to sit on my lap. As I picked her up I realized she felt really warm. I turned her to face me. She rested her head on my chest. I thought, "Well, I think she may be alittle sick. I will have them check her temp." Poor thing looks up at me and pukes all over my front. I didnt' know what to do. I was shocked. I didn't know she was sick!

We got cleaned up and headed to the sick side of the waiting areas. (They have 2 waiting rooms so kids that are healthy can avoid the sick ones.) We headed home 2 hours later!!! Of all the days for the doctor to be running late, its the day that I stink like puke and my daughter looks like she is gonna pass out.

So the main thing has been keeping her temperature down. Which I think we are managing well. Last night it was 103.3, which made me nervous just b/c she has never been that high, and when I was a kid, I used to have convulsions from high fevers.

THankfully this morning, after a sleepless night for Samantha, she is looking better. THey said it should last 3 days or so. My mom comes in tomorrow, so I hope to have the worst done by then. I hope and pray that Molly doesn't get this. But God is in control. Here are some shots of her on the couch. She watched videos all afternoon. She didn't get up and play until about 7pm. I guess the Motrin worked well.

(By the way, I know this is the silliest thing, but when she got sick on me, I heard magical bells ring in my head announcing my membership into the "True Mommy Club". I feel like I truly belong now. All I have left to do is suck boogers out of my kids nose with my mouth. Sandra and Erica will get this.)

Ohhh, poor baby! I'm so sorry she is feeling so poorly. I hope she gets over it quickly.

Oh, and I don't know about sucking boogers out of my kids noses. =) That makes me a little ill just thinking about it.

I haven't been introduced into the true Mommy club yet...I know it will happen anytime though. That must be hard to deal with by yourself. Poor baby! I will pray that Molly and you don't get it. Thank God your Mom comes in to help you!

That picture of Samantha with the lollipop is so cute!

And BTW, I do not do boogers - that's what a kleenex is for!
