Horseshoe crab 911

Last night we went on our walk. Peter informed me (very excitedly I might add) that it is mating season for the horseshoe crabs and we need to get down to the beach ASAP to see this marvel of nature. I was less enthusiastic, but I joined in on the walk. Well, what a sight. I was so grossed out. There were hundreds of crabs on the beach doing "their duty". I felt like I couldn't find a path to walk on without being faced with one (well, 2) in the way.

Peter felt he needed to save these ugly creatures as well. They would get trapped up in the rocks and he would pull them out. I kept saying it was God's will for them to die, but he wouldn't listen. He was so into it, that Molly and I left the beach and went home as he saved about 30 more.

This sight made me laugh. You can see the bird walked up to the crab to get a meal, realized there was nothing left and walked away. I tried to be like Erica and take some pictures of the beach and be all artsy. Didn't work. But we do live in a beautiful area. The seagulls here are well fed to say the least. This one was huge. Molly enjoyed the walk. She really loves her carrier.

To finish off this post, I wanted to add this video that I took. I think it says it all.

this cracked me up ..your narration about saving horseshoe crabs. Peter looked so into it he was oblivious to that fact that he had a child on his back!!

hilarious. That is so funny. I agree with your mom that the narration is just what made it so funny.
