Still kickin'

Hey all. I just wanted to quick post a "We are alive" post to let you know I have not forgotten about blogging. Due to a number of events (2 vacations, a lost camera battery charger, new computer...) we just haven't been able to post. But I thought I would fill you in on some things going on.

Peter: My studly man was recently promoted NCOIC of the PAX terminal. This means he is the guy in charge of the PAX terminal here. This brings on more responsibility (no more money) and a new office. He also is going on 8 years in the Air Force at the end of the month. In July, he will be pinning on Tech. Sgt. (E-6) Sweet!

Julie: Life has kept me busy. It's been the winter of sickness. We had the flu, which as most of you know, throwing up plus toddlers equals LOTS of laundry. My body was kind enough to bless me twice this year with the flu. But all is well now and we continue on. I am busy with the kids schooling, nursery ministry, and a number of opportunities to help out families (military and non) with a number of needs.

Samantha: K4 has begun for her and so far she is doing well in her schooling. I started A Beka with her, not really sure how I would feel about it. But really, it's great. It's the best for parents who want to teach their kids, but don't know what they are doing. It's very specific on what I should do. Samantha is starting to write letters and can even spell a few words. As for her personality, there is still a bunch of girly drama bottled up inside of her.

Molly: Molly has been working right along side of Samantha in school. She is getting very good at recognizing letters and counting. She can even make an "O". (Ok, I realize it's just a circle, but I am still proud.) We are currently undergoing some things to help Molly's health. We did some more testing and came to the conclusion that her immune system is still very low. Parts of it is practically non-existent. For now, we are trying some medications to help. We are trying to avoid any serious respiratory infections due to her lung. So far, the Lord has been good.

Clara: Our little happy girl. She is so sweet and fun. Clara is crawling all over the house now. And anything she can reach, she will pull herself up on. I see walking in her future, and gray hairs in mine! She loves waving bye bye and mimicking our words. And of course her favorite food is cheese puffs! We "occasionally" will throw her a banana or broccoli. ;)

All in all, our family is growing and doing great. It's amazing how fast time goes by. The next birthday (after Peter's 33rd this Saturday!!!) will be Clara... one year old!! I'm thankful for all 4 of them. Pictures and videos will soon follow.

Well it's about time! :) JK. :)

We have had a "sick" winter too...it never stops! I have not been to church in over 2 weeks because of illness in my babies.

ABeka is great...my mom homeschooled all six of us and has told me that ABeka is the BEST for new learners.

So glad to hear that God has been blessing you so greatly! And it is nice to see you blogging...I've missed it! :)

A little late in reading this, but love the update. Praying for Molly - for all of you, actually. You are doing great with teaching your children - not only academics, but you are a great example to them of the love & compassion of Christ. Keep it up, Julie!
